The House

1988-2015

In the summer of 1988, I started this painting on draught --- a diagram of the process. Soon after I began working the Detroit area began experiencing hot, dry, no rain weather --- a draught.  After about eight weeks, I stopped painting, hung this piece on the wall and left my studio until it began raining again. 

In the summer of 2015, twenty –seven years later, I decided to finish it --- even when, in the last week of working, temperatures went up to 80 and 90 degrees for several consecutive days.
